At Brighton College Bangkok we develop well-educated, respectful and inquisitive young men and women, ready to take a full and active role in the world around them. Life at Brighton College is underpinned by a deep commitment to the individual needs and passions of each child, inspiring each pupil to achieve academic excellence in a culture of kindness, confidence and curiosity.
We are a sister school to Brighton College, the number 1 co-educational school in the UK, which achieves the very best academic results and an outstanding record of entry into the world’s leading universities. It was also recently awarded the accolade of ‘The Most Forward Thinking School 2017’ by The Week magazine.
The third of the Brighton College international schools, Brighton College Bangkok educates children between 2 and 18 years of age. The College’s aims are consistent with every school in the successful Brighton family, fostering the following in all its pupils:
Brighton College Bangkok follows a curriculum that is based on, and extends, the English National Curriculum. It is tailor made, innovative and imaginative, yet rooted in a desire to provide strong foundations in every subject. Barriers between the subjects are frequently broken down to create a sense of relevance and awareness, enabling pupils to make connections between all they do. Our inspiring teachers make learning fun, varied and challenging. Their individualised style of teaching and high aspirations mean children will achieve beyond expectations.
In the Pre-Prep School our experienced team shape the curriculum to suit each child’s interests and needs, providing an exceptional grounding in the basics of numeracy, literacy, IT, problem-solving and collaboration, whilst fostering creativity in a safe and nurturing environment. Our pupils benefit from the expertise of specialist teachers in art, music, dance, PE and languages, including Thai and Mandarin, alongside the security and continuity of their classroom teacher. It is this combination of specialism and personalised learning that makes a Brighton College Bangkok education second to none.
Uniquely we introduce full specialist teaching in Year 5 (when pupils are 9). At this age children are ready for additional rigour and depth; the passion and knowledge that subject specialists bring engages the children, motivating them to acquire a greater understanding. On entry to Senior School in Year 9 our pupils are ready to start their IGCSE studies a year early because of the strength and depth of our accelerated curriculum. After IGCSE examinations pupils progress onto A-level studies in Year 12, normally choosing to concentrate on four subjects. At Brighton College Bangkok, every child is unique and our teachers create outstanding learning opportunities that encourage pupils to pursue individual thought, creativity and academic excellence.
Beyond the classroom our pupils have extensive opportunities to try a diverse range of activities. Our extensive co-curricular programme offers something for everyone, including, but not limited to, performing and creative arts, sports and physical activities, leadership and service opportunities, as well as stimulating academic clubs. As children explore new disciplines, develop new skills and further their individual interests, we enable them to discover their passions, the ‘thing’ that really makes them tick; this in turn will support everything that they do.
It is our ethos of excellence, combined with a balance for the world outside the classroom and our supportive house system, that forms the foundation of our exceptional pastoral care at every stage of the College, that inspires our pupils to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
