New Early Years programme at Bavarian International School
A new Early Years Programme will begin in February 2018 at the Bavarian International School (BIS). The programme will cater for children between the ages of three to six years and will be based on the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) with inspiration from the philosophy of Reggio Emilia – an educational philosophy which focuses on the development potential of each child.

The Reggio Emilia philosophy

The Reggio Emilia approach promotes the free, independent and individual development of children. Children learn from their own curiosity, the urge to explore and play as they interact with their environment. Teachers offer age-appropriate suggestions in maths, language or art to guide and promote the development of children but the teaching does not adhere to a rigid teaching and learning programme.
