In this informative webinar our panel of schools and education consultants will cover the range of curriculum options available to children moving around the world and locally, and provide advice on how to choose the right one for your child. We explore which curricula are most suitable for families changing location frequently on an international assignment including the International Baccalaureate, English, French, German, US and other national education systems and how they are viewed by universities.
We also welcome Kate Raison from UK Study Options. She will discuss how to help both international and UK students to gain entry to the top universities and courses in the UK. As the leading experts in UK University Fee Status, she will explain how her company has helped over 1,000 British or European expat families to maintain their Home/EU fee status eligibility.
The panel will cover advice on personal statements, the importance of gaining work experience and what to look for when visiting shortlisted universities.
Biographies:
Johanna Sale is the Vice Principal of Impington Village and International College, which was named the UK’s top non-selective provider of the International Baccalaureate (IB) in the Sunday Times Parent Power 2020. Jo has been at the College for over 20 years and, as part of her role, is responsible for the International College, whole College curriculum, homework and options processes for students. She is committed to developing inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people, who go on to achieve excellence in whichever path they choose.During her time at the College, Jo has been IB Diploma Programme (DP) coordinator and Head of Sixth Form, worked on expanding the DP curriculum, implemented the IB Career-related Programme (CP) and developed a number of new Scholarship programmes in partnership with major external companies and organisations. She is now leading on establishing the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) within the co-located secondary school, Impington Village College.
Prior to Impington International College, Jo studied English Literature and Philosophy at St Andrews University, followed by a PGCE at Cambridge. She also has a Master’s degree in Education from Cambridge.
Ksenija Popac M.Ed. is the Founder and Managing Director of EMG School Placement www.emgschoolplacement.com.
She is a senior educational consultant and an expat who spent 21 years in Germany. She loved living in Düsseldorf where she built up her career and reputation by finding solutions for families relocating with school children; dealing with repatriation, providing her expertise on international and local school systems and curricula on a worldwide basis, helping parents make informed decisions in finding the most suitable school for their children.
A graduate of the College of New Jersey with a Master’s degree in Education. She has over 25 years of international experience in teaching, IB curriculum and educational consulting. As an entrepreneur she successfully started and ran her own language school for Business English.
A multilingual speaker fluent in English, German, Dutch, Spanish and Serbian, and is currently learning Russian. She enjoys traveling which is a great opportunity to practice the languages she has acquired.
In April 2018 Ksenija relocated to Sneek, the Netherlands with her Dutch husband and a teenage daughter.

Catalina Gardescu currently heads the Admissions, Communications and External Relations Department at the American International School of Bucharest. Catalina’s portfolio of work includes parent interviews, admissions projections, publications and communications, parent relations, fundraising, alumni relations and strategic marketing. She is part of the leadership team of the school and helps create the school budget, marketing and communication strategies, as well as conducts the school fundraising program. She sits on the tuition support committee and heads the school’s scholarship committee.
Catalina was involved in creating the first ever ECIS Admissions Committee, Open Apply admissions workshops – of which she designed and led Admissions Certification Courses in Shanghai, Singapore and Sofia - founded the International Admissions Bulletin (currently published by Open Apply) and continues to support the profession in any way she can.
