The pandemic experience has uncovered new circumstances and movement of people including those families drawn to a desirable location, returning home or responding to economic opportunities. Employers and families are planning international assignments as vaccine availability allows relocation and inward investment moves.

We examine the shift in communication and the bespoke approach to admissions that has made the best international schools accessible to children and families around the world under the most challenging circumstances.

Speaker bios:

Cynthia Davis Hall, Director of Admissions and Advancement, American School of Milan

Cynthia Davis Hall was born and raised in Europe with her parents where she attended several international schools. As a young professional, she lived for seven years in Brussels, Belgium and speaks French and Italian. Cynthia began work in Advancement as a Director of Advancement at Lincoln Community School in Accra, Ghana then moved to Cairo American College in Cairo, Egypt. She is now Director of Admissions and Advancement in American School of Milan.

Kate des Places, External Relations Director, Marymount International School Paris

Kate has served on the Senior Leadership Team at Marymount since 2014. She has operational experience across all areas of school administration. In her role as External Relations Director, she oversees external relations, communications and admissions. Kate is British, speaks fluent French and has higher degrees in Law, Business Management and Psychology. She has lived and worked in the UK, USA and France, and has two children at Marymount.

Michaela Seeger, Director of Community Relations, Zurich International School and a member of its Strategic Leadership Team

Michaela has extensive experience in the for-profit and non-profit environment. She served as a member of the CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) Europe Board (2011 - 2017) and as Chair of the ECIS (The Educational Collaborative for International Schools) Advancement Committee (2008 - 2017). In 2017 she received the CASE European School Engagement Award.
