Think Global People | Relocate Awards 2023
Dr Sue Shortland, Head Judge writes:
This year’s Relocate and Think Global People awards focused on the theme of innovation and it was fantastic to receive - and have the privilege to judge - a selection of approaches and services that truly demonstrated this. The combination of technology and people-centred support showed how well mobility services can provide fast and cost-effective solutions but within the safety net of human backup ensuring both reassurance and a personal, tailored service. It was particularly rewarding to see the focus on managing mobility successfully set against the backdrop of Ukraine and other global crises and also to see the amazing leadership entries that demonstrated just how well global mobility is enacted by our relocation community. This year has seen a huge focus on environmental, social and governance issues among those in international management and leadership roles and the global mobility industry and, as part of the innovative entries, the judges were delighted to see ESG issues coming to the fore. There has also been a major emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives over this past year and again it was excellent to see EDI shining through in the evidence submitted. The panel of judges spent considerable time debating the merits of all the entries to determine the winners and those who have been highly commended – but it must be stressed that all who entered this year did an excellent job turning the decision-making into a lively and exciting contest.
