Inspiring innovation and creativity
The Relocate Awards were set up to recognise and promote excellence, innovation and best practice, all three of which are increasingly vital to global prosperity and growth. That’s why, at this year’s gala dinner, Relocate is offering an opportunity – inspired by developments in science, technology and engineering – for those who are driving their businesses forward to connect with our high-profile special guests, experts, and professionals from other disciplines to exchange ideas.Says Fiona Murchie, Relocate’s managing editor and founder of the awards, “Our goal is to inspire companies to innovate and be creative, so they can evolve to meet the challenges of the future. We are also passionate about encouraging young people to aim high and take their place in a fast-paced global environment.“Reflecting this, we’re looking to connect employers with schools and the talent of the future, both at the gala dinner and going forward.”Maggie Philbin – host and guest speaker
Special guests will be on hand to spark conversations and innovative ideas around the future of industry sectors, STEM subjects, the development of the workplace, and supporting young talent to fill skills gaps. Our host and guest speaker will be well-known science, medical and technology broadcaster Maggie Philbin, OBE, who is also co-founder and CEO of TeenTech CIC, an award-winning organisation that helps young people and their parents and teachers to understand the opportunities available in science, technology and engineering. In 2016, Maggie was Computer Weekly magazine’s Most Influential Woman in UK IT, and was named Digital Leader of the Year for her work with TeenTech CIC.In the Space Gallery, Professor Anu Ojha, OBE, Director of Education and Space Communications at the National Space Academy, and his colleagues Dr Kierann Shah, National Project Manager, and Amy Bradshaw, Gulf and Special Projects Coordinator, will demonstrate the inspirational context of space and space-sector careers, with some of their students. Also participating will be ‘ambassadors’ from a range of sectors, including construction/sustainable building and engineering.Buy your tickets today!
