ISKL: A Community Coming Together Through Language
In our increasingly interconnected world, multilingualism has become more than just a skill—it's a bridge fostering unity and understanding among diverse cultures.
Embracing Multilingualism: Bridging the Gap
Language is the key that unlocks doors to different cultures and perspectives. ISKL’s commitment to multilingualism is more than just learning languages; it's about cultivating empathy, cultural awareness, and effective communication. By embracing multilingualism, the school empowers students and families to connect with peers worldwide, break down language barriers, and build lasting relationships.

A Tapestry of Cultures: Enriching the Learning Experience
Imagine a school where students step into a classroom surrounded by classmates from various cultural backgrounds. At ISKL, this is a reality, with over 70 nationalities represented in its diverse community. The school’s community celebrates diversity and integrates it into the curriculum through shared experiences and stories, where students gain a profound understanding of different cultures, traditions, and ways of thinking. This sentiment is echoed by ISKL alumni Oscar R. and current student Dev C., who both emphasize the benefits of acquiring a new language in high school. Oscar says, "Taking a new language in high school is a great way to expand your knowledge not only because you acquire a new language, but you also gain the ability to know 'how to learn’.'”
Global Citizenship: Preparing for a Borderless World
In an era where the world is becoming increasingly interconnected, navigating a global path is invaluable. ISKL's commitment to multilingualism equips students with the tools they need to become actual global citizens. For example, many events organized by the PTA celebrate diversity and connect the whole community, such as the International Fest, the Elementary School International Flag Parade, and Christmas Around the World, annual traditions held at the school. At the International Flag Parade, students, teachers, parents, and staff can be seen dressed in national costumes, proudly cheering, and waving their country's flags.
A Community that Cares: Nurturing the Mind, Heart, and Spirit
ISKL understands that education goes beyond textbooks. The school’s holistic approach emphasizes academic excellence, personal growth, and character development. By promoting multilingualism and fostering a dynamic community, ISKL is able to nurture well-rounded individuals to thrive in a diverse and ever-evolving world while promoting a culture of care and empathy in the community.
